About Us
Led by Wendy Burdett, a Practitioner Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Design Essentials brings more than 20 years of residential design experience to projects ranging from remodels and new homes to builder and model-home environments. Wendy’s particular strength is spatial clarity—seeing how circulation, furniture placement, proportion, storage, sightlines, and everyday function work together within a plan.
Design Essentials can become involved early in the planning process, helping evaluate layouts, refine interior spaces, organize design direction, and guide finish and material decisions before construction is underway and changes become more difficult or costly.
With a background spanning residential interiors, plan development, model home design and merchandising, and construction-related design, Wendy brings both a design perspective and an understanding of how a home needs to function in real life. Design Essentials can work independently with homeowners or as an additional design resource for builders, remodelers, architects, and other industry professionals.
